  • How many of us are doing a candida diet?

I just started on Tuesday. I have been doing Atkins pretty faithfully since December and kept losing and gaining the same 3 pounds. I just couldn't get below 171 no matter what I did. I was getting really frustrated, so I decided to read the book again and see what I was doing wrong. When I got to the part about yeast, a lightbulb went off. I did the saliva test and it was positive. So, I've been doing the KISS diet since Tuesday to see if that helps.

If this works I will be so thankful. I was getting really discouraged when nothing seemed to help. It is interesting just eating meat and veggies, but it's doable.

I'm doing Atkins right now. I'm losing weight but the Candida symptoms are not diminishing much yet.

However I feel better, not so much lightheadedness. My fingers are smelling of Ammonia, do you have that?

Re: How many of us are doing a candida diet?

I am doing a revised version of the candida diet. I stopped eating all dairy and stopped drinking alcohol recently... For the last year I have been feeling so horrible, not my normal self and I set out on a trek to figure out why. I had multiple blood tests done, went to the ENT for allergies and the Neurologist for the daily Dizziness/Vertigo. The Eye doctor for my deteriorating eyes... The Gynecologist for the yeast infections and Abdominal Cramping... And I had gotten no where! UHHHH So many issues and I am only 26.

On Sunday I felt like I was dying... Literally, between the dizziness, abdominal cramping and the nausea... all I wanted to do was sleep. So I sat down and said what did I eat to make me feel this way... In the last day I had eaten a lot of dairy. So starting on Monday I ate ZERO dairy. It is now Thursday and I have lost 5 pounds, the dizziness and the nausea have gone away completely. Not to mention my sinuses have cleared up.

So, my symptoms were yeast infections (monthly), dizziness (vertigo), allergies, clogged sinuses, abdominal cramping, constipation, weight gain, deteriorating eyes, nausua, slightly white tongue, fatigued, Mental fog... And maybe some more...

I am taking the following vitamins for all around well being and to help clear the yeast... Acidopholus, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Milk Thistle, Selenium, Garlic, Echinacea, B12, St. Johns Wart, Flax Seed Oil, Beta Carotene, Red Yeast Rye and Vitamin C... I am also using Oil of Oregano (4 drops under my tongue, every night). I just ordered Caprylic Acid because I heard this is one of the best ways to fight yeast overgrowth.

I hope this helps everyone!! I know it has helped me and I wish I would have done it sooner!!!!!

I live on the candida diet. I stalled on Atkins at 230 lbs 7 years ago. Now I'm loosing a pound a day. You need to take at least 4,000 mg/day of Vitamin C...

This gal How to Successfully Overcome Candida seems to have a lot of good information on fighting this candida thing.
