  • Gonna give it a shot.

I've known for years that I've had candida, but my problem has always been the die-off symptoms. Everytime I begin to successfully kill candida, I become so ill that I eat sugar to alleviate the symptoms, and stop my supplements. It has been a contributing source to my failure every single time. My die off reactions cause extreme pain, and I get a rash all over my skin that burns and itches like you wouldn't believe, unless of course you've experienced it. My other issue has been supplements. I was taking antifungals, psyllium and bentonite, and acidophilus, but I had problems taking my supplements when I was supposed to, because of my schedule. Psyllium and bentonite and acidophilus are not very portable, which made taking 3 doses a day difficult. As most of you know, trying to fight this dis-ease can be discouraging. I look forward to your encouragement, support, and wisdom.

Everyones systoms are different. The ones you discribe the rash, the burning and itching of your skin must be terrible. I've not experienced this.
My symptoms were mainly intestinal problems(constipation, bloating) and vaginal (burning, itching and pain.) This just goes to show that candidas can cause so much pain, besides stalling our weight loss. My candidias was caused from years of taking antibiotics.

I can tell you that unless you quit eating sugar you will not be able to get candida yeast under control. I understand becoming ill during the die off. Most of us that go thru this process feel horrible. But it will pass, but you have to take your suppliments to replace the good bacteria. If you aren't already eating the KISS way, you need to be eating unprocessed foods.

I don't understand how it is hard for you to take your suppliments. Acidophlis is in pill form and most don't need to be refrigerated, Check at Walmart. I buy mine there. sorry I don't know what bentonite is. Please explain so I will know the next time someone mentions it. Psyllium comes in pill form too.

Yes, I understand that fighting this condition can be a long hard battle, but so worth it.

I suggest that you read and learn as much about this condition. check out the stickys there is a bunch of helpful information. This information will help you map out a plan to get those yeastie beasties under control. Eating the KISS atkins diet is a must. If you aren't familiar with it, please let me know.

This problem can be one that you will have to keep in check the rest of your life. I know I am one that needs to pay attention to what I eat or the yeast will be causing me problems again.

We are all our own science project. I hope you find what works for you and that you find relief from your horrible yeast caused symptoms.

I am not expert on this subject. I can only tell you what I have found works for me.

      Happy low carbing.

I've read many books about Candida. Maybe too many actually.
        "Candida: A Natural Approach"

        "The Yeast Connection"

        "The Body Ecology Diet"

        "Candida:The Silent Epidemic"

http://curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=76&i=83 this is a link about P&B Shakes (psyllium & bentonite)

"Psyllium and bentonite can help to eliminate parasites and candida, but each of these conditions requires additional measures to address it completely. A parasite cleanse can be performed with the colon cleanse or immediately after. Liver/gallbladder cleansing is also beneficial following a thorough colon cleansing." this is a quote from the above link.

The additional measures I was using was diet, antifungals, and acidophilus. I haven't found a brand of acidophilus that works for me besides one from Metagenics that requires refrigeration. I also was using an antifungal from Metagenics.

When I begin to experience die off, like I said earlier, I get a painful, itching, burning rash, which means the dying yeast is coming out of my skin. This happens when yeast dies at a very fast rate, and can't make it out by means of intestines quickly enough.

I've found that reading a lot of different info just seems to make things even more confusing. Every practitioner, book, and person seems to have a different method of dealing with this thing. I hope one day I can say I'm yeast free.

I wish you the best. sounds like you have done your homework.

Are you eating unprocessed foods too? This will help eliminate candidas. The KISS diet is what got me back into control. It did take time (6 weeks). I still eat real close to KISS rules. Just to keep the overgrowth of yeast from returning.

So many foods can reinfect us, like dry tea, dry spices, vinegars, dairy, processed foods(like bacon, ham), nuts have mold in them too. So the menu can get pretty limited, but it makes me feel better, so I eat this way.

IMHO, my experience, eating purely has helped me more than suppliments. Suppliments helped at first, then seemed to lose their power. So I switch around the suppliments and don't take the same ones each and everyday. Just my practice. Others may disagree and that is OK. What works for one may not work the same for someone else.

Happy low carbing and candida eliminating!!!
