    Thank you for this post about the underarm soreness My underarms have been sore too . Now I know what the problem is. This may sound weird but the first time I started Atkins I felt depressed also. I think it was the perception of deprivation, along with repeated failures before and a feeling of hopelessness like why should this work nothing else has. I did lose weight though the first time around and now after seeing all these success stories I have a renewed hope for success and that I can do the low carb way of eating forever. SO keep your chin up , dont weigh yourself everyday like I have been lol and you will be the belle of the ball in no time

      I too went through a period of "mourning" the carbs. Probably about 3 weeks into the diet eating wasn't to fun anymore, it was more of a chore. But now I seem fine again!
      I am not even tempted at all by cookies or cakes, it's like my taste buds have reorganized to like the good foods instead of the bad ones. I always wondered how my husband, after being on atkins for 2 years now could stick to his diet so well, now i know!

        Thanx for all the support and keep giving me more...I NEED IT!

        good news is im 178lbs now...and i started with 185lbs. SO IM HAPPY..but have a long way to go . I have come out of depression mode...i dont really carve for carbs...just the coke and my tea...i know i can drink tea but im afraid to be stalled...so im going to drink tea maybe once 3 weeks or so...maybe not even that..i just want to lose weight. i've started little work out to lose weight faster and get tonned while i lose...
        i cant wait to hit my goal and post my gorgeous pic .... right now im gross!

        so once again..thanx for the support and i hope you guys won't give up on me if i come to you depressed and tired...AGAIN!?

            congrats on your great start. if your tea is decaf it will not stall you and you can have it after you finish your water drinking.

              Hi atkineers! Good morning (in CT, USA)
              Yes betty, i do tae bo for 30 min and walk on tredmill for about 20 min. I cant do more right now but gradually i will try to run instead of walking (brisk walking).

              And as of today im 175lbs im happy that im losing but i can't really see the lose...its just my face thats showing the progress but my body is still the same .... atleast i cant notice it. Im too shy to show others and ask if i have lost....i want to get tonned also...advice me on what type of exercising i should be doing. I have more fat waist down. I want to lose fat from my hips and arms and thighs and butt.

              2BIG i will keep that in mind....thanx ((hugs* hugs*))

              please advice about the exercise!!?

                good for you. There is a great site called www.coolrunning.com and they have a begining running program called couch to 5K around here we call it C25K. It will really help you make the switch from all walking to all running if you want to try. they also have great tios about form and shoes and landing on your heel not your toes as so many of us were told to do in our youth UGH!.

                Make friends with your tapemeadure and you will see where your inches of fat have been shed from.

                  Yes, the C25k program is a great one. Any form of cardiovascular exercise is KEY to burning body fat .. but I've sorta made my mantra: walking is for the butt, running is for the gut ... at least it worked that way for me. Great job with the exercise so far! I would also encourage you to do weight/resistence training for your CORE muscles .. do you have an exercise ball? I highly recommend them.

                    I do have a excersice ball and will use it once i trim down a bit.
