Today, February 2, 2006, marks my 10th day off Effexor and my FIRST DAY with absolutely zero withdrawal symptoms!!!

Excuse me while I celebrate independence from this EVIL DRUG ...

YAY Betty I knew you would do it WAY to go any Drug that messes with your Brain is Evil now I do know there are those that need them But, man a lot of the crap is caused by Diet. I have been reading a lot It's funny the first thig docs do is Perscribe could be they get a cut of the drugs,

I AM SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!! I remeber comming of those little Devils I thought I would die so I turned to food which only made it worse and worse till I hit Bottom Now I am here and Everyone on this Board is my Saviour Especially YOU!!!!!

oh yes ...

1. Clear thinking. I no longer feel like I'm in a fog. I know its not just my imagination, but I am REMEMBERING things. I work a very complicated job with a million different things to remember. I used to have difficulty concentrating and staying on task. In the past week, its totally different. I can really think. I get so much done!!!!!

2. Feeling. I used to be sorta "numb" when it came to emotions. Couldn't really laugh .. couldn't really cry. Couldn't really feel anything. Hard to explain. But now? I can laugh HYSTERICALLY again!! I can get emotional (in a good way) over sentimental things. I've always been one to express my emotional side easily .. until I took Effexor. Seemed like all my emotions were CAPPED. So yeah, being able to FEEL again is wonderful.

3. And definitely the libido. DH is *not* complaining! Me either.

4. One of the effects of Effexor .. it makes you crave alcohol .. oh sure .. just what depressed people on drugs need .. so now that I no longer take the drug, I couldn't care less about wine any more. Its like 'blech.'

OVERALL, I JUST FEEL DYNAMITE!

talked with my doc. and I started today going from 10mg. of lexapro to 5mg. i WILL DO THIS!!

Cassy YOU CAN DO IT! Make up your mind to rid your body of that POISON once and for all!!

If you start to feel dizzy or nauseas, get some dramamine .. it really helped me over the R O U G H part!

Really weird thing to report, but this is GOOD!

I started thyroid meds. 2-1/2 weeks ago. I chickened out, Betty, on going off the lexapro a month ago but started the same day I started thyroid meds. I'm down to 2.5 mg of lexapro from 10 mg. and I'm having NO WITHDRAWALS AT ALL! I can't believe how blessed I am to be going through this pain free. It has to be the thyroid meds. helping this....don't you think?

I'd hazard a guess that maybe the thyroid problem caused the bad feeling that made you need lexapro in the first place. Perhaps the root cause is now being addressed. Good on you.

I am on my 2nd day without any Lexapro. I am feeling bitchy and a little anxious. I'm hoping that will pass. I don't feel depressed just the anxious angry feeling. I hope that passes!
