  • Could it be the Cymbalta?

Hi, I'm new & so very thankful to have found a place for support and hopefully HELP with my current situation. I have been on induction now for almost 4 weeks. I did Atkins before my pregnancy with great and fast results, but now, absolutely nothing has happened. Ok, maybe that is a slight bit over the top. I feel better and sleep better but even with excercise the weight loss - and more importantly inches lost - just isn't there. I have been taking Lisinopril for blood pressure (and have been able to stop as of today with the Doc's permission) and Cymbalta for depression and neuropathy. The only difference I can really wrap my head around is the Cymbalta...I had already lost almost 20 pounds at this point on my last round of induction before the baby and that was without excercise. I'm really careful with my diet and checked for ketosis using strips - which were purple in two days...I am absolutely stumped! Anybody have any idea if this could be it?

Sure, I need to lose appx 30 pounds. I walk at least 3 miles 3 times a week and started aerobics 2x a week 2 weeks ago. a typical day is a mushroom omlet & water, pepperoni snack, tuna and salad (my fav), more pepperoni, and usually chicken with mustard or ranch (1-2tbs) If I'm lucky, I've already had my 64 oz of water, but if not i drink just before bed (ugh). I have always been a meat eater, so atkins has always been pretty easy...that's why I can't figure out why not much is happening.

you don't say how much you are eating of those foods. You know you are suppoesed to have youe veggies spread outto all meals so you are having some protein some fat and some carbs at every meal. Are you only eating enough of those foods to satisfy your hunger when you eat and stop? if not you are over eating your Atkins.

How long have you been on your meds?

with 30 pounds to lose you should be drinking even more water then the minimum 64 ounces cause it takes water to lose weight and Atkinsa is a natural diuretic too wheneatten right.

Remember Atkins is high fatsoyou should be getting 65% of your cals from fats or mixed fat sources lite fatty cuts of meat. try plugging your foods into www.fitday.com and see what your pie chart looks like.
