Has anyone found that after being able to come off of the meds the rate at which they are losing weight is now faster? Or has anyone experienced that one antidepressant has less weight loss stalling affects that perhaps another? Just curious. Trying to work this out with my health care provider.

I take zoloft and haven't noticed any effects one way or the other. I don't think it inhibits my losing. Good luckelle

theinteraction of your antidepressant and your body will depend on your genes. It is now known that there are over 40 liver proteins present that interact in different ways with the SSRI antidepresants so your next door neighbor may not gain on the same med you gain on and vise versa. There is a genetic test that the MAyo Clinic now uses befopre they prescrib to know if the med how much of the med and even if split doesing is needed before they prescribe. Unfortunatetly no one has identified which combination of those liver proteins causes weight gain or loss on antidepressants.
The important thing is that you feel better metally so if you are having concerns talk with your doc about your med, your dose, and if it is time for you to stop using it.
