  • Induction ???'s

I know I should be reading the book on this, but how long 'can' you stay on Induction? After two weeks, not seeing the first 'dramatic' loss... can you stay at this level safely for a time?

    Re: Induction ???'s

you can stay on induction according to DR Atkins as long as you are feeling healthy and have pounds to lose but you need to move to the other phases to learn how food effects you and practice while you have appetite suppression as when you get closer to goal and closer to your CCLM it will be gone. Remember induction is but the foundation of your house of Atkins WOE take the time to do the framing in OWL and the roofing in Premaintnenance or your house will be crashing down around you at goal and you will likely be somebody who regains their lost weight as they get out of control eating higher carb foods.

    happy low carbing

Having been on this diet before, I do understand the idea behind changing your way of eating. Just thought since two weeks of induction didn't prove much for me, should I extend it.

you can try extended induction but you know from the last time you did it what your metabilic rate is. with 27 pounds to lose the 5-10% induction loss is only going to be 1.35 to 2.7 pounds.

Many folk do better adding the frist rung of OWL with the extra 5 net carbs of veggies to go with the 3 cups from induction.

Since you were on it before and lost as a current goalie I'd really like to know why you decided to quit Atkins for high carb again?

        EDIT
