  • when im depressed I.....

    Hi im on anti depressents and have been for almost 2 years which initialy started out as post natal depression....
    I found that when my mood was High i was a good girl eating a balanced variety of foods...
    But when i was LOw i could hardley get my *** off the chair ... and whn i did it was to go into the kitchen to get more biscuits, more cake maybe a little apple pie,bag of crisps or 2 or 3, and then have a great big evening dinner with creamed potatoes or roasties....
    Now if i need sugar taste i go 4 sugar free jelly n sqwerty cream hmmmm.takes that edge off.

    So im so glad that by being on this diet I love meat and fish.... initially craved 4 my carbs but soon got over that, n now i find myself having increased energy i want to do more physical activities .... and iv only been on the plan for 7 days so far.....
    So ithink its helping me keep even ....

    Well I just wont do anythign at all lol. I just usally stay to myself and don't really associate with other people. I a wating to get out anddo htns but have no one to do things with because of that ... now that I feel good all the time and have energy to do things I feel like an for having alienated myself. Guess its time to start being nice.

      The best remedy for me is cardiovascular exercise. Nothing beats the endorphins!

        Bigmama: when I find I have ventured to far into the nihlist existential abyss, I go outside for awhile. Outside my house, that is, not just outside the abyss. If the sun is up, then I make certain that I am underneath it. Sometimes (and this may sound wild) I hug a tree. This helps. I do not know why, but I swear it does. If it is late at night, I just go to bed. I almost always feel better when I wake up. Just try it.

          Right now, I just cry...I've almost hit the 24 hr mark. Not constant, but off and on. I've been feeling really bad lately, and havent talked to anyone about it because I'm embarrassed. Eventhough I'm doing as much as I can daily....I feel like I'm falling short in all areas. Won't bore you guys with the details, just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

            I cry, watch too much tv, wish the cleaning fairies would come take care of my house, cry some more . . .

              bigmama72, it sounds like you're doing better eating low-carb. That definitely has an impact on me. Like Betty said exercise helps a lot, too.

              When I'm feeling depressed I also become a shut in. I don't want to talk to or see people, I don't feel like going to work, and I don't want to eat well either.

              Hugs to you and the others who have posted and are feeling down lately. Hang in there. Do what makes you feel better as long as it's not self-destructive.

              The best relievers for me are diet and exercise...

                normally when it strikes me i will cry. then sleep. after i wake up i will feel better. and then i will go for a walk outside alone or with my dog. it eventually feels better.
                It just keep going down and up, down and up *SLAP* wake up!!!
