I'm starting Atkins again today after 2 years of gaining weight back. I have some bad problems with OCD, General Anxiety Disorder, and Social Anxiety disorder, which often leads to severe depression. I'm finally leveling out as I began taking Effexor XR 3 months ago. I currently take a daily dose of 225 mg and also occasionaly use xanax. Feeling great, but I was wondering what effect these meds might have on atkins. Does anyone know or have they experienced any ill effects from it or stallls during this WOL? Thanks!

I'm on 150mg of Effexor daily plus 5mg of Ciprolex for the two weeks before my period due to PMS.
I have had difficulty losing very well since being on ATkins for 5 weeks now. I thought it might be Candida, and have been doing the Candida cleanse routine for almost a month. If that doesn't work I can assume it's the meds???
If so, I'm not sure what to do about that as i'm not prepared to stop my meds at this point. I should be excercising I know (I KNOW!) lol, and this will be my next vow. I think that will help. It may just be that it will come off very slowly while on meds, but still come off eventually?? Good luck to you, and good for you taking control and starting Atkins again!! -
