  • Does Xanax restrict weight loss?

    Hi all,

I'm just getting back on the bandwagon again. I did the induction for about 1.5 weeks back in January, and was disappointed with no weight loss, and the nutrition centre (where I get weighed in) commented it is because of taking Xanax. Back then I was taking about (in total per day) 1.5 mg. Now I have a lot less stress and can feel the anxiety has reduced, so I'm only taking .75 or .50 mg total per day. Anyone have any comments or experiences with taking Xanax and weight loss? please advise! thanks

Funny u should ask. Ive been taking Xanax for probably 6 years. I started doing atkins about 14 months ago. Never any problems losing weight with this lifestyle. You only gave it a week and a half? No disrespect, but that's not much of a commitment. Are you sure you were doing Atkins right? Did you seek help on here. These are some suggestions I would consider before being so uncommited. You have to be serious. Folks often will see a week or two on no loss of weight, but did u measure yourself. You can lose inches w/o losing weight at certain intervals during Atkins.
Glad you are giving it another try. Be persistent. Look for all the exciting ways to prepare food the induction-friendly way! Believe me, this WOE is fun!

PS: The funnest part is losing the weight, though!

      thanks for the advice

      dear jim

thanks for the advice and relay of experience you are having with xanax...

I agree what you were saying that a week and half is not long enough, back in January.

I'm back on the bandwagon again and hoping to make it work!

How much weight have you lost in the last 14 months? just curious..

      take care
