  • Higher Blood Suger

I had my blood glucose retested yesterday. Two months ago it was 112 after a 12 hour fast. They said to come back and retest in a couple months and yesterday it was 114 after a 12 hour fast.

The rest of my numbers are awesome.. Cholesterol at 163 (the HDL needs to come up some, that's only 30 and should be 40), Triglycerides at 63, etc and my blood pressure has improved greatly too, 113/70 to 117/64. I understand the blood glucose isn't ungodly high but it concerns me since last time it was checked when I did Atkins the fasting was 87 or something like that. Diabetes does run in my family and that's part of why I wnated to start Atkins. Before I started the first time a couple years ago fasting was at 120.

I guess I'm wodnering if there is any need for concern at this point, and also can stress play a part in blood glucose? Work lately has been stressful and I'm working on anxiety issues- and of course this will just be one more thing I worry about LOL

    Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks

I'm not an expert, just a fellow diabetic, but 112 and 114 are so close that I don't think I would consider the 114 as much of an increase. Sounds more like you've stayed pretty much the same.

I can say that my diabetes has greatly improved since I've been on Atkins.
