  • Tussin cough syrup??

Hello all! I'm not diabetic but I was wondering if there was a sugar free couph syrup like Tussin/robitussin? I practically live on the stuff in the spring and summer... I am so congested right now since I stopped taking my high fructose corn syrup med! Boy was it stalling me out!

    Thanks!

Oh yeah.. forgot to ask.. if there IS one, and you have used it, does it have the same effect on congestion?

I think I've seen sugarfree ones at Walmart. I haven't tried them so I don't know how effective they are.

I used a Sugar Free Robitussin for cold symptoms earlier in the spring and it seemed to work for me. If you buy a product in a drug store, approach the pharmacist and ask her/him as well. They, too, should be able to recommend a product.

      Best of luck.

YES, there are sugar free versions. The sugar has nothing to do with the decongestant effect, it is the active medication in them that does. That medication is the same in the regular or sugar free versions. I would encourage you, if congested for so long, to seek medical care though.

You might look into getting a prescription for Allegra or picking up some over the counter pills. You don't have to worry about sugar content than, and I've always found them more effective.
