  • So-Called Diet Foods and Sugar-Free Foods

Here is a partial list of stealth sugars. All of these will raise your blood sugar. Keep in mind that sugars (and carbohydrate) tend to end in –ose (as in lactose), while sugar alcohols end in –ol (as in sorbitol).

Tricky darn sugars...it is hard to believe the ways the humans have found to put sugar into everything. It is a shame!

Have you ever wondered where sweet and salt cravings come from?
They are natural, the sweetest milk comes from human breasts and our skin is salty. We start our babies young.

I am even finding sugars in the spice packets and marinades that I was using. Now I am really reading labels. Help - what about sugar free jello and sugar free Tang? Can we have those?

I am going to buy the book tomorrow morning, but I am reading that I need to find the DANDR 2002 edition rather than the latest one. What is the difference and where do I find the 2002?

              Teacher,

The Jello brand has that nasty aspertame in it so you should avoid it and anything else with it in there. You can have Splenda, but only three packets a day and it could stall you so most people stay away with anything processed. But, Jolly Rancher has a brand of "jello" that has Splenda. It will probably say carb free, but with Splenda in it you need to count 1 carb.
