Just an update here!

Mr. B just came back from the Drs. (his quarterly visit). A1C was............drum roll please.....................5.5.

PHHHEEWWWW!!!!!!

He had his sixth and last eye surgury on Friday. Time will tell with that as the healing takes weeks.

That's absolutely fantastic news, Bren!! Sooo very happy for the both of you!!

I can't wait til John gets his tested again. Last time he was down to 7.5! And he's being so good, maybe he can get his down as low as Mr. B has!

Sounds like he is doing what it takes Moggy. Mr B. is true to his WOE and trust me, not working out around here lately is not an option. We are still cutting trees/stacking firewood etc.

Not alot Jimmie...... but some! He can see shapes at a distance. For awhile he was able to read, but I caught him with a magnifying glass the other day. He is not saying, but I do not have a good feeling about this. One day at a time.

Well, to keep you all informed. AND to hope someone is reading this who does not realize just how serious the the effects of diabetes can be and how important it is to detect it and treat it. Cliff is one of those who never thought this "could" happen to him. Yesterday was not a good day. After 10 months of surgeries to stop the damage to his eyes we FINALLY finished and had his appointment with the doctor for glasses on Friday. Friday morning he wakes up and his one eye had hemorahaged again. So, now we wait to see if his system absorbs it and in three weeks find out if more surgury is needed. The good news is, IF he does not hemorahage again in the other eye, the doctor is certain glasses will bring a great improvement to his vision.
Next on the agenda, we went to the primary care physician as he is all of the sudden having swelling of the feet/ankles and working up his legs. Pitting edema.
So, the next set of tests begin. Heart and Kidney are the focus right now.
This week is blood work, already had the EKG, echocardiogram etc etc etc.
The frustrating part is his A1C is 5.5 and his BP is 122/78. So all his "controlables" are in control.
One day at a time.
