:icondance I have officially lost 20 lbs! ! :icondance
Had my labs done and saw the doc on monday.
last Nov. my HBAc1 test was 11.9. As of today (drumroll please) 5.3!!
blood pressure is 70\130 cruising right along.
Doc put me on a very low dosage of lisinopril. I voiced concern that although i'm feeling fine now, what kind of damage may 10years of no control done to my kidneys, will they crap out in 5, 10, 15 years? This med is preventative, apparently its considered standard of care after age 55 for type II diabetics, but for his own information, doctors and pharmacists who are also diabetics advocate taking the med as soon as possible. apparently it lowers the blood pressure and thus less pressure on the kidneys. Anyone have any info\thoughts on this med?
My Microalbumen test went from 23.1 to 11.9. I dont know anything about this other than its an indication my kidneys are working right? the notation on last years test indicate under 30.0 is normal, and something baout microalbumin-random s\b greater than 29? Im confused. but if I am reading this right my blood is cleaner than it was last year?
good news is my cholestorol total is 176 (at least I think thats good news). bad news is my HDL hasnt budged since November (39) and my LDL went from 110 to 124. gah. I really was expecting the opposite to happen. to be fair, the test was 4 months beforeI started atkinsing, maybe its lower than when I began atkins, but i've always been blessed with relatively low cholestorol levels. Also to be fair, I was eating pork rinds with sour cream and tadasco for breakfast before the test :no Since begining Atkins at the end of May, trans fats are a thing of the past, I am eating a little bit more meat than i used to, the only thing I am frequently indulging in, is pork rinds. Im bummed because I'm fitting the statistic of why atkinsing is bad for you.
I plan to cut out the pork rinds. and I will test again in 3 months. ( but I'll miss my little no carb snacks :anger )
SOooooooooooo in conclusion, I done pretty good. Ive started going to the gym daily for swimming and light cardio and i am feeling fantastic. 20 down, 80 to go.
ta!
