Aww Tish your post made me feel emotional, as I know exactly what you mean. our son is avid hiker and almost 26 and I couldn’t go along with him as couldn’t keep up, now when he comes home him and I go hiking and I plod right along, we did Maligne Canyon crawl on river ice, we did hoodoos, I could never go uphill and heard how awesome they were and they truly were and the hike wasn’t even really harsh for me, and then at Thanksgiving we tramped thru forest and walked along the river fly fishing for over four hours. In past my son and hubby would have done this and I read in the car...its such a relief to have some normalcy in my life and not be so different.
I bet your little boy was thrilled.....hey did ya get a strike

I did..did get a strike... and the biggest thrill was how proud my son was to have me there... he kept hugging me and saying it was the best birthday ever... *sigh* such a simple thing... and you never realize how much you are missing out on...or do you, but just justify it to yourself...

Hey... I just saw my dad (he is also a type 2 diabetic), he was always a huge nay sayer of the atkins WOL... teee heee... guess who sheepishly asked me for the flax bread recipe ... seems he has noticed how well I am and wants to give the whole thing a go...ahhhh see it does come to those who wait!

Hey Tish, Canuck and 2 Big,
2...ya gotta change your name, you're not 2 big now :icondance
Thanks for all the support. I feel so much better. My thinking is clearer too. My doc advised my husband to go on the diet too and he is feeling much better also. Although he's not diabetic but a carboholic.
I've moved onto the 40 carb level, I was nervous about that cause I don't want to feel bad again. What is bootcamp? That sounds like something I need
I can't tell you how much your encouragement, inspiration and tips have helped me. I was so confused and overwhelmed. Thanks guys
And again, congrats on your success. This is a great program. I go for an AIC towards the end of November. I'm looking forward to it, my numbers at home have been great
        Take care & thanks
        Debbie
