I'm so proud of myself...I've been very strict, still on induction after 3 weeks, and my blood glucose is just about NORMAL! My doctor didn't think I could do it without insulin...yep, I'm doing it! I do take "metformin" 850 mg. twice a day so it isn't totally on my own and I'm eating no more than 30 carbs a day. I have ketone sticks and everytime I test it turns a deep purple (my favorite color). The down side of my strictness is that I haven't lost too much weight - 6 pounds in three weeks!?! Maybe I'm gaining muscle since I work with a trainer 2X a week mostly weightlifting. This morning I weighed myself and I'm finally below 170...169! I'm able to fit into my size 10 pants...so really, I'm only one size away from my goal of 8. I'm happy, but I'm a "right this minute" kind of girl.
There have been a couple times when I've wanted to cheat...but I don't! I think it's because this is a change of lifestyle for me and I'm looking at it as a long term, life change...yes, I'm sure I will cheat a little, but only when it is REALLY REALLY worth it! I've been super satisfied eating chef salads, nuts, eggs, steak, chicken, etc. I haven't found anything that would taste as good as how I feel right now. Have a great day everyone!!!!
