  • Vitamins-diabetic?

This is a cross post, since I'm diabetic-had originally posted in the vitanutrients section.

OK, I'm taking the target brand Centrum Silver and today I went to Walmart with a list of vitamins it looks like are important for me. I am diabetic, so I tried to use those guidelines. Here's what I bought to go with my multivitamin:
-flax,fish and borage oil provides Omega 3,6,9 400 mgs ea.
-my list said Chromium and all I could find was chromium picolinate?same thing? 500 mcg.
    -Lcarnitine 500 mg
    -Super B Complex
    -Vit C 500 mg
    -CoQ10 100 mg

I also had Biotin on my list, but was afraid to buy it because its in the SuperB, but only 3.8mcg so I think to aid with diabetes I could take another biotin seperately???? My multi also has 30 mcg. Is this correct, or is it necessary? I was looking for vanadium and can't find that at Target, Walmart or CVS drugs, so I guess I need to look at a health food store if its something I really need to add. What do you all think? Am I missing something?

Thanks for responding Canuck! I read the Diabetic Revolution borrowed from the library, but no longer have it. I was just going by the recommendations I found in DANDR. I'll have to find time to get back to the library to see what he recommends!

        DR A says..

        vit c 2000mg
        vit e 400iu
(natural mixed tocoherols with selinium. I found it at health food store.
        ALPHA LIPOIC ACID 600mg
        BIOTIN 2000 TO 4000 MCG DIVIDED)AND INOSITOL 500 TO 1000 MG
        chronium400 - 1000 mcg divided (picinate)
magnesium start gradual and up to 350mg
        calcium 1200mg
        zinc up to 100mg
        coenzyme q10 100mg three times a day
amino acids as per healthcare professional, eg cartine

This is what he talks about, I think you can buy his brand and it is all in one. Maybe reread it for own use, I am not suggesting you take all these, we must research on our own or talk to doc before we start all these. It is a mouthful for sure. I take the ones for diabetes and for heart care and it is about 14 plus a day.Yick!!
Sorry for delay, just have been so busy
