Just wondering if anyone has tried Lyrica for diabetic neruopathy, did it work for you?

I have taken Lyrica for nerve damage in my legs due to a spinal injury- i HATED it!!!! it made me very depressed, stayed in bed all day, very lethargic. I thought neurontin had less side effects, but i also hated it. These are the only 2 drugs i have ever taken that have caused me depression. They offered to put me on wellbutrin while on lyrica but i declined and delt with the pain. the nerve damage i have mimics the same pain you have, thats why they are giving to people with nerve damage in their legs. i'm also a diabetic which compounds the problem. I've tried all the nerve meds, as well as pain killers. I talked to a fellow lyrica user in theripy and he has had the same experience as me, in fact he was getting very depressed and went with the antidepressents to continue using it..he couldn't take the pain. I hope this helps
