  • Hi

HI guys...its been awhile since ive posted in here...I was invited back, so here I am... :wave

Im no longer on induction because Christmas Eve we found out Im pregnant!!!!!!!

So im currently trying to figure out what levels (carbs) I should eat at...cause ive never been any further than induction...

Anyway, im on insulin...have been taking it for a little over a year...i like the way it controls my sugar levels alot more than oral....

When I was PG with Andrew (hes in Heaven now) my sugars would go crazy...so I guess im looking forward to that again...but would really like someone to keep me in check....yeah im one of those folks who really doesnt like to test...I dunno why i feel like testing is such a bother...usually just take my shots without testing first...but I cant do that anymore....Im weird like that lol

anyway, enough about me....im so glad to be back...and take care everyone....

Wendy I am so happy you are pregnant again and so happy you are back.

I know you know this but being pregnant can escalate BG so only way to know how much insulin and food you need is to test otherwise you screw your Bg levels and insulin levels.

In past I used to need to be policed to stay on track and now I have found a way to do it internally, I wish I could tell you how it came about or give it to you but for each of us it is different. I would be happy to not police you but give you lots of support to remain healthy.

I would be happy if you would post regularly here and yes Atkins doesn’t recommend his induction for preg women but maintenance levels are fine. Probably lower carb the lower your BG, the lower your BG (80 to 110)the healthier your baby will be and less risk of becoming diabetic from what I know.

The higher your BG the bigger your baby and the unhealthier it can be and the higher risk of eventually developing diabetes as well, so let’s all cheer Wendy on and stay around kiddo.

    goodonya!!!!

Congrats to you and hubby and children.

Welcome back, Wendy, and congratulations :wave

Although I am a diabetic, I'm not on insulin. However, I do know that it is indeed important to test your levels when on insulin!!

      Please give it a try.

Come on Wendy! You can test for the baby! Don't think of it as for yourself, do it to keep your little peanut as healthy as can be! Come to the board often, and we will keep you on the right track!
