          Re: Diabetes and Cinnamon

The active ingredient in cinnamon, a polyphenol compound called methylhydroxy chalcone polymer(MHCP) mimics the action of insilin in your body. Insulin help control blood sugar levels, but it also plays a part regulating triglyceride and cholesterol levels. That may explain why diabetics tend to have higher cholesterol and tryglycerides. Diabetics also tend to have high amounts of free radicals circulating in their bodies. Lab experiments showed cinnamon effectively neutrilized these damaging molecules. What's more, a little dab may do it. People in studies benefited from taking 1 gram-about a half a teaspoon-of cinnamon each day.

                    Re: Diabetes and Cinnamon

Of course, there may be people who would not benefit from using Cinnamon as well as those who would benefit from using it. Check first with your medical professional and if he/she does not have a problem with it and it seems to help, then that's the main thing!!

                      Re: Diabetes and Cinnamon

I am 20 years old and I have low blood sugar. It’s probably because I'm a chocolate fanatic and my mother has it. I've gotten better about my sugar intake and I do everything the doctor tells me. I have juice in the morning to bring my sugar up after the night and eat protein every three hours especially before bed to hold me through the night but I still worry. I'm not sure if this is overreacting or just being smart. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should/can do?
