I just got back from my doctor (3-month Check-Up) and she was blown away by my results (as was I!) First thing she said:“What were you doing? You’re results are great!”.

My 3-month HbA1c is 5.7 !!!! I’m amazed! The last time it was that low was 3 years ago!!!

My morning levels after night fasting aren’t normal yet at 6.5, but way better than 3 months ago when the were 7.9!!!!

Even my blood pressure has improved: 115/75 (3 months ago: 130/80)

I'm so excited! And my doctor is totally supportive and pro Atkins and told me I do not need to take any meds!!!! Also that with these levels I am no longer considered "Diabetic" but "Pre-Diabetic".

My next goal apart from loosing further weight is to improve my blood results furthermore, so that I am considered "Normal" (apparently that should be possible).

Thanks everyone here for your support and inspiration. You guys rock!!!

WOW! 5.7 is AWESOME! My mom gets great numbers for her HbA1c check ups too. Atkins is almost like a cure all! Great going!! Diabetes is the main reason I started atkins, I want to avoid it.

                That's FANTASTIC news, SwissMiss!!

You are certainly an inspiration, especially to Diabetics. Your results show that this WOE/WOL works (as if we didn't know - but it's great to hear it).

Keep up the great work (which I'm sure that you will)!!

                    Re: Exciting news

Thank you ... Thank you.... Thank you! I have to say that the good levels motivate me to continue this woe and become healthy.

My weight isn't dropping as fast as it does for other members in this forum which frustrates me some days, but then we are all different, we are individuals and since I have to loose a lot, it would be better for my skin to loose slowly.

Also I read in the book "Atkins Diabetes Revolution" that persons with Diabetes might not loose much until their blood sugar levels normalize.

Well ... I'm staying patient and focused. My next check up is in 3 months and I hope to get my levels normalized by then.

                      Hi SwissMiss,

I think your progress is good. Almost 10 kilos in 2 months is pretty good. You should be proud.

This is very motivating to me because I just came back to the diet. I don't know why I strayed, I think it was mostly boredom with the same ole, same ole but I'm back and I hope to stay. The only good thing is I haven't gained any of my weight back that I lost. I'm really good at maintaining weight. It's the losing part that I stink at LOL. Congratulations Swiss Miss!
