  • Debating Metformin use

I'm a Type 2 diabetic, have been on Metformin before and I did like the Extended Relief stuff, went off a few months ago when #'s all got really good, but then things got really bad really quick and now I'm at 7.2 A1C (I was dx'd at 7.0 in 2004, so this is just a tad worse).. New doc wants me on Metformin again, but I started back to LC the day after my appointment w/ him and I'm wondering if it wouldn't be an interesting experiment to see if 3 months of LC is enough to get me back where I was before things got bad (last A1C was in the low 5's) - yes, part of me wants to go in there and tell the doc that I did it w/ LC and no Metformin, not WW as he suggested... I know that's juvenile. Should I just take the help and take the Metformin? Would I be able to go off it again when I'm closer to goal weight?

    Hi Melissa,

First of all, please don't take this the wrong, but, as I'm sure that you are well aware, we are not medical professionals here, thus we can't give medical advise. i.e., whether or not to take medication.

Also, it would have to between you and your doctor, as to whether or not (or even when) you should take or you could stop taking your medication.
