  • more on vinegar...

Hi all, I saw the topic about vinegar making high blood sugar go down - is it possible that it could give you low blood sugar? I'm hypoglycemic/pre-diabetic, and I hadn't had any problems with low blood sugar while on Atkins until last night, and the only thing I did differently yesterday was eat a lot of vinaigrette dressing that contained vinegar. And right before I went to bed I had a terrible blood sugar low. The dressing had zero carbs. The only other stuff I ate all day was chicken, turkey, and mayonnaise. What do you think? Should I get rid of the vinaigrette?

If you are not on any meds, I guess it could be the vinegar- but it seems unlikely to me that it would give you a low. How low was it? I have had many of those episodes- from medicine- and they are scary! I guess I would try it again and be ready to have something ready just in case you go low again- then you will know it that was it or not.
