  • Induction going well!

Good Morning! I am beginning on day 10 today, and so far, so good! I have lost 9.2 pounds so far, and am staying faithful to the plan! I feel very good about that! I did have a bit of a struggle last night, when I really wanted to throw caution to the wind and eat some forbidden carbs, but I managed to work thru the evening without cheating! Boy, those moments can be difficult to deal with, when you just want to do what you want and consequences be damned! That spoiled brat is hard to fight! I had only lost a half a pound in the last couple of days, and was thinking things were slowing to a crawl, and that is not fun. But, when I got on the scale this morning, I had a happy surprise to see I had lost a pound and a half overnight! That makes me have the will to continue the good fight!

    Until tomorrow!

    Re: Induction going well!

    Hi Connie,
Good for you tightening up the reins and pushing thru.
If it's one thing I do know about Atkins is that it's a very healing woe. My Type-2 Diabetes reversed within 47 days of being on Atkins and that was five years ago.
Try to only weigh once a week. The scale can be evil and fluctuate day to day. Sometimes minute to minute.. Did you measure yourself when you started? The tape measure will become a better friend than the evil metal monster.
Congratulations to your success thus far. You're doing great. Keep up the fantastic work you're doing for yourself.
    Sincerely, Sherri

        Re: Induction going well!

Sherri, Thank you so very much for your encouraging words! I needed to hear that you had cured your sugar problem in X amount of days! I have read the materials, and have had such hope, but my numbers have still continued to be high! I have been discouraged for the past 4 days or so about that! I was getting to the point of wanting to throw in the towel because I have not seen my sugar numbers come down one bit, in fact, yesterday, in the morning hours, they rose steadily for like 4 hours and I had not even had breakfast!!! I normally have breakfast, but this time, I didn't as I got busy and side tracked. Diabetes is so complex an issue, and I am really doing massive amounts of research online and in books, looking for the answers. I have a few more days left of induction, and I will continue on and try to keep my spirits up as to what I am trying to accomplish. The weight loss is just a side bonus to me at the moment, because I am really scared with the diabetes and the possibilities of dying an ugly death like my Father did. None of the meds that have been given me have worked, and in fact, have made me even more ill. I have to give this woe all I have got in me, cuz I need to turn things around. I will check out the CC, as you suggest. I only just now have seen your post...I am up cuz I couldn't sleep...another glorious thing about diabetes, or older age, I am not sure, but getting a full 8 hours is nigh on impossible for me these days. I am hoping to heal and to really turn a lot of things around here!

        Thanks for listening!
