  • Rejoicing!

I've had a few posts where I was concerned about my diabetes. Turns out I was worried for nothing. Found out the result of my blood test today.

    HgB A1c (Diabetes Test)
    08-30-04 10.3%

    04-06-05: 6.5%

Atkins naysayers, you can kiss my ever decreasing booty!

The doctor advised me that she does not feel that I need to stay on meds. She thinks I can control the diabetes with diet and exercise. She will check my blood again in three months.

She also told me I'm the 3rd diabetic she knows who
managed to get stable on Atkins. She said, whatever you
    are doing, keep doing it!

        i wonder too

Canuck, I showed the doctor my readings on the freestyle meter. She told me she is not concerned about my readings unless they were over 180 fasting. I was very suprised by this. i suppose I will find out more when I go back in 3 months.

My last 10 readings on the meter:

        174 4pm
        129 801am - first of the day
        197 10:46 pm
136 10.58 am - first of the day
        177 7:49 pm
        139 8:31 am
        195 9:45 pm
        142 12:55
209 7.10 am - first of the day
        165 9:30 pm

I don't see anything about peptide on the test. i'd be happy to fax a copy of it to you though, if you would like to look at it. It was a metabolic panel, non-fasting.
