i got to ya in your journal but we can do it here too. others will come, too.

wp, find those triggers. if driving past starbucks makes you weak in the knees, then go a different route. if you pass by the doughnut shop and can't resist the smell, drive a different route. don't walk down the crappy isle at the store. make a list of your atkins freindly foods and stick to the list.

what triggers your getting off plan?

I really want to encourage you to succeed. We all support you 100+%. We can all tell you the basic steps to take, but the motivation to make it happen has to come from within.

For me, I wanted it so badly that I made plans to avoid, change and improve the things in my life that was holding me back. I'm not saying it was easy...it was the hardest thing I ever did, but I had affirmative notes all over the house, in my purse, in my car and every day I read a statement that I wrote to motivate myself to do it. I gave myself talks, read inspirational books, listened to tapes, kept a daily journal and constantly reminded myself of what I must do to succeed.

You can do this. You have the best support system here in the ADBB with so many people who want to see you do it. Dr. Atkins laid it out for us and it does work, but in order to lose the weight, we have to commit to the program and be willing to change our ways.

Affirmative notes: good advice I hadn't thought of. I think it may help me as well, thank you!

Re: just have to admit it I suppose

welcome to the I'm a carboholic realization.

As Jimmie Jo said find your triggers and they can be foods, people, events, places, sites, smells, tastes, just about anything.
get a notebook and journal not only what you eat but the 5Ws too who what when were why and how you fekt before during and afterwards. Our brains are huge filing cabinets with foods filed under many catagories from simple likes and dislikes to those foods that your brain will and does use to "cure" feelings it thinks you shouldn't have. Unfortunately the mimicing of neurotransmitters effects from the foods is very temporary so you are back feeling the same way and added guilt cause you can't believe you just allowed yourself to eat that too feeling which of course Dr Brain has another food cure for.

once you recognize the triggerring events you will know what is causing it and more importantly what your Dr Brain is trying to cure. You can avoid the trigger and learn other things to program into your Dr Brain mempory banks as the cure for that like exercise for stress and the more you use the new cures the weaker the neural connections to the old food cures will become. ( that is where the exercising your willpower and it gets stronger theory comes from)
Since you are bouncing in and out of control you can have many many triggers and it will take time to identify all of them but in the mean time practice carb harm reduction. Just as soon as you realize what you are doing make the next bite Atkins. You will see the bingers growing smaller and less frequent each time you do practice carb harm reduction.
