  • So Thankful

I am so thankful for a forum like this. I have a huge problem with emotional eating and I am so glad to have found a place to come and share and get and give support. This is so what I have needed these past couple of weeks, especially. Looking forward to spending more time here.

I've been posting in this forum, but never thought to say "Thank You" for having it created! So.... thank you! to the ha powers that be.

Denise -- tell us about your emotional eating problem... What are your triggers? Have you found things to do to help work through this?

I'm looking for new ways to "comfort" myself. 2Big's post about my body wanting to comfort me with food really struck home... but I need to find a substitute for that. Has anyone else worked through this?

I have a funny feeling you'all will see me in here a lot

You know, by main thing is that if I cheat, I go all out. I have that self defeating attitude of " oh well, I already screwed up what difference does it make if I eat this whole pie", ya know?

Generally I do really well, I have had no cheats since I started in Sep, but the last week of Nov was horrid for me. My birthday was the 30th, hubby didn't get me anything, not even a card. I'm not a big material person, but gifts for birthdays are nice and we have been married 13 yrs (together 15) not like it was a surprise, ya know. Then there was the whole PMS thing I had to deal with that week, too. I also forgot to refil my anti-depressants before the Thanksgiving holiday, so I was out of those for 4 days. Not a good week.

I find that I can normally remain focused on the big picture and do really well, but that week was just bad, bad, bad.

I am back on track this week, though.
