  • My cat, Lucy

I got the word today that my beloved feline Lucy has a tumor. if i want to try exploratory surgery i need to pay $350.00. I just spent $550.00 on medical care for my cat and it wiped out my entire paycheck. I have no savings and I can't pay more. I'm in such conflict over this. All I wanted to do today was eat, eat, eat. As if that would help Lucy. I am so sad and so worried for my poor cat. she is the only person in my life who has given me unconditional love.

*hugs* I wish I could offer you any kind of advice or inspiration, but I'm sorry. I do know how you feel since I have a cat too who I'd lay my life down for and he has kidney disease.

I'm keeping you and Lucy in my prayers. I really hope you find a way to help her. *hugs*

Aww I'm so sorry - I too have pets that mean more to me than people.
Try and keep yourself on track - Lucy needs you to be strong.

      Take care.

talk with your vet about a payment plan. it can't hurt and he might say yes. especially if you have a vet who really puts the animals first.
I worked for a vet like that in mississippi, he was the sweetest man. we had this one lady who couldn't afford her pets cancer treatments, I was new to the clinic and took her check and he told me we didn't deposit her checks we ripped them up. I hope your vet is as helpful for your Lucy. Keep us posted! :hug

I hope Lucy is doing better...my thoughts are with you both.

I know what you are going through..I dealt with the same kind of thing a year ago...right after I just moved into a new place. My cat Patches is a diabetic and has a "lazy" colon.

He got sick...wasn't eating or really going to the bathroom...if he doesn't eat, I can't give him his insulin. In a three week period he was in the hospital twice, each for a few days. He was dehydrated and his sugar and insulin levels were out of whack.

The first time it cost me around $300....a little over a week he was still not himself, so back to the hospital. That bill was around $550.00. The vet was wonderful...I had to leave a deposit but then we worked out a plan of $50 per month...it took me almost a year to pay it off.

They took such great care of Patches and really fixed the problem...and to this date he hasn't been back to the vets

They were really caring and all I had to do was ask and discuss and they were more than willing to help out. Vets do care, so just talk to your vet and I'm sure they will work with you

Good luck to you and Lucy
