  • Small victory

I was at a supermarket the other night with my best friend when all of a sudden I hear her name being called out. She doesn't hear it, but I look around and realize that this guy we went to school with is calling her. I tell her and we go over.
This guy has always been a complete sweetheart, and I have talked to him once or twice since we graduated. The last time we spoke was about a year ago, but he is the kind of guy who remembers small details and always brings a smile to your face. Well apparently not this night.
He started talking to my friend and completely ignored me. It wasnt even like he ignored me, he just never even looked at me. It was like I was invisible. I even made a small comment about how tall he is now and no one, not him, my friend or the other girl that was there seemed to hear me. Finally after a few minutes everyone says goodbye and goes their seperate ways, but I felt terrible. :sadblinky I went right over to the bakery and picked up an angel food cake and walked around with it for about half an hour before putting it down and resisting the temptation.
I don't think that he was being rude, or trying to ignore me but I still feel sad though. I can't help but think that maybe if I were thinner I wouldn't get ignored as much.

      No not really.... :sadblinky
He looked really good and it was kinda like cute boy ignoring fat girl. Maybe next time I see him he will act like the same sweetheart he has always been. I hope, though, that the next time I see him I am at least one size smaller.
I also hope I can continue to avoid the bakery. :nod

you can contune to focus on the hurt or celebrat the great job you did turning that negative into a really great positive for you! :hug :hug

You didn't allow your Dr Brain to prescribe that cake from the bakery as the cure for your hurt feelings from being snubbed by those rude folk. :joy :icondance :joy :icondance :joy :icondance :joy :icondance

You didn't revert to eating the old comfort foods and harming your self :joy :icondance :joy :icondance :joy :icondance

You took control of a very big issue ofr you and used it in a positive manner walking around the store exercising for 30 min instead of buying it and running out to the car to stuff your face with it. :joy :icondance :joy :icondance :joy :icondance

You didn't go home and stuff your face with bad ofr you foods and are still in ketosis and becoming a healthier smaller you!!!:joy :icondance :joy :icondance

In my book that makes that event a very big triumph for you !!!!!

Good job on preventing yourself from using food as a security blanket. Remember this experience for the next time you don't feel like exercising.

Did you tell your best friend that it hurt you she ignored you and didn't make any attempts to include you in the conversation? Get this off your chest before it builds into a deep resentment.

Also, if you meet him again, don't treat him any different. When you reach goal, don't treat him any different than you did before. Show this jerk and everyone else you have class.

I know exactly how you feel sweetie, this has happened to me many times and it just makes me want to binge as well. I just hope these things will get better once you´ve lost the weight, it just sucks that some people treat overweight individuals like this. Hugs :hug
