I started induction a few days ago and I keep messing up. I would consider myself a stress eater. Tomorrow will be the third day in a row that i'm starting over on Day 1 of Induction. I'm not really sure what the deal is, i just get anxious and start eating things off the diet plan.

Re: help
How can we help? let us know. You haven't got to the good part yet, let me tell you. If you can just stick it out, you will get such an energy burst, your head will clear, it is wonderful!
Stock up on nice crunchy legal foods like celery. At least if you stress eat, if you do it on celery and cream cheese, or deviled eggs, you can make it to ketosis and then you would be on your way!

Re: help
Ooooh! I hear you loud and clear! I did something very similar. Every morning, when I woke up, I would think "Today is Day 2 of Atkins".. or "Today is Day 3"... you get the picture. Then I would fall off the wagon. I would mess up a lot.
However, when I changed my mindset to "This is just one morning of Atkins" and "I can make it until noon"...then "I can make until 2"... and so on, I stayed on the plan. I could only think a few hours at a time. I would do this until bedtime and then get up and start the same again. I had to think by hours, not by days.
I know that sounds trivial, but I hope it helps. Maybe if you can just think of it by hours, or even minutes if you have to. Also, I made a list of 100 things I could do instead of eat (mostly things to do instead of eat the "wrong foods")- it really helps me get through the carb cravings. And I promise you, the cravings go away. The first few days are awful. No one can describe them.. or understand them, until they've been there. Hang in there - good luck to you.
Let me know if I can help you out... I'm new on induction, but I'm working on week two and this week has been heaven compared to last week.
I'm rooting for you-

Re: help
I agree with Avery. Focus on one meal at a time and keep trying to have a cheat free perfect day. It took me a couple of weeks to get there but I am now in day ten. And week two is easier. The first four days are the most difficult so stock up and have things ready to eat in advance and if you need to eat for whatever reason, then do. Just eat legal stuff.

Re: help
By the mile it's a trial, by the inch, it's a cinch.
Avery's and Chinadoll's post hit the nail on the head. The first part is hard.. like climbing a mountain. But you climb a mountain... one footstep at a time. Then you hit the peak and the view is incredible. Hope you are still going at it!

Re: help
Welcome to the board!
Yes, the first few days are hardest when you've been used to treating stress with carbs but just remember that the carbs are helping to create the stress and once they are out of your system, you will feel so much better.
We are all addicts to carbs and much learn to see them as the enemy. That's why we are here, to help others find their way to better health and energy. Just hang in there and you will be fine!
