    All day I think about food. What I'm going to eat, mostly of the foods that I can't eat. I'm in my second day and already I wish I could have some nuts, pork grinds, beef gerky. What can I have besids veggie, and meat. Someone help me please.

    By the way I hate CHEESE neve liked it.

    First, you can't start Atkins until you educate yourself about it. Taking a wild stab at what to eat and what not to eat won't serve you well. Get a copy of DANDER 2002 and read it. You need to know how this plan works and what you can eat and not eat or you will be miserable.

    Having said that, the plan works if you work it. Invest a little time in yourself and understand it first, though. If you look through the Stickys, you will find lists of the Acceptable Food List for Induction and the Rules of Induction. Atkins is a commitment but well worth it for many of us.

      You can have pork rinds if you want. They are salty and sometimes cause us to retain water, but you can have them. Dill pickles are a good choice. I love pizza with a cheese crust or a portabello mushroom cap crust. Taco salad is a good choice. BLT salad, yummmy.
      Thinking about food will go away, its pretty common at first, but it won't last. Neither will your hunger

        Check out the recipes on this site, there are some great ones to help add variety to introduction. Also, read the book, it really helps to motivate you to get through introduction. And keep busy and drink lots of water.

          When I'm not doing Atkins I am totally obsessed with food as well. But by third day on induction everything changes and I stop thinking about where I'm going to get my next chocolate bar... keep at it and once in ketosis you will find relief.
