            Cool! Not sure if I overtook you though, before seeing this (or we could have shared a stop for a coffee - decaff of course -). Yesterday I had a spurt of energy and got in an above average number of flights!

            Wow! Jack's nearly half way up M Blanc!

                  I wish I would have known when I was doing them yesterday that I only had 3 left - but I'll stick with my 10 flights a day for now, thighs are burning happily

                      sal, i check in here every morning to check out your siggy to see how many flights i need to do during the day. looks like we'll quite possibly be at base camp tomorrow. this is going pretty fast for us!

                        You know jimmie... I was thinking just yesterday how fast we're going... to the extent that I wondered if, when updating my siggy, I'd inadvertently added 100 to the total, or something like that. Do hope not! I only keep a record in my siggy, nowhere else, so have no way of checking. This last trip to base camp seems to have really flown by!

                          no, i don't think you made any mistakes in your calculations. i also realized yesterday that you and i are pretty evenly matched. we've been so close in our numbers on this climb and even with everest.

                          as of this moment, i have 1585. at the end of the day, i'm sure to be at base camp with some extra flights towards mont blanc

                              i made base camp and buzzed over to mont blanc for 15 flights. now i'm back to kilimanjaro.
                              i'll lay back and enjoy dinner for the rest of the night and then tomorrow, you and i can start our trek up to base camp 2000

                              sal, i was at work today packing up and loading some scrap paper for recycling and i had to go up a flight of stairs w/20 steps. i could only take one box at a time to load the truck and during one of my trips down the office manager asked if i needed help. i told him no, i was fine, it was good exercise. i then told him that the extra flights would do me good as i trekked my way up kilimanjaro. he looked at me questioningly so i told him about our travels up kilimanjaro and everest. he looked at me with amazement when i told him that we had already completely everest twice and this was our second time up kilimanjaro.

                              this challenge is the best!
