LOVE the sound of this challenge - I tend to step machine in the morning before my shower and again after work (no stairs in work) - would be nice to think I'm getting somewhere!!! Haven't hill walked in a LONG time - hence the added pounds, so a mountain it must be - climbed the real one 10 yrs ago, so a virtual Mount Snowdon to get me back in shape is a must!

Plenty of water for the journey.... I'm off!!

              • Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

Ok, I'm in. I have to count the stairs here at work, I believe there are 10 to a flight, four flights per floor. I know that from the bottom floor (not the basement) it is 591' above sea level, and the top floor is 693' above sea level. So each climb would be 102'. Any guesses to how many stairs there are?

The basement is 579' above sea level.

welcome to our challenge, farley! i'm seeing you all over the place! it's good to see members active and involved

as for the flights/stairs, my advice is to just count what's there and not worry about sea level calculations. since your steps per flight are different than what the calculations are in the challenge, i would suggest you just count steps instead of flights.

the flights i have here at my house only have 13 steps per. i have to calculate my flights differently too.

                  • Re: PLEDGING FLIGHTS *** A Stair Climb Challenge

It's 190 steps from the basement, and 170 steps from 591'.

So I'm 190/3500. I plan to have summited the Tower in 4-5 weeks.
No later than: May 2nd. We'll see what additional steps I climb in the course of my day I guess. Going from the basement to the top floor will be something new to my daily routine.
