WELL DONE, DEP! I GAVE YOUR TOTAL IN THE EXERCISER OF THE WEEK THREAD AND IT'S OUTDATED ALREADY!!! GOOD JOB!!!

sal, that is too funny! you'll have to tell your brother that when he climbs 912 flights (all the buildings) you'll run him off a certificate.
this has been a very catchy challenge!

Sally, very cool your brother is getting into climbing!!! What does "sarkie" mean in your British lingo?

FYI: this morning marked the end of Kilimanjaro.

You know I am blasting PF when I am climbing these steps. I really can't sing along after a couple of flights -- I'm too busy gasping for air. This really is a great workout! SO no, I didn't sing -- I drank about a gallon of water!

On to Everest Bio!! But... helllllppp... now I'm all alone half way up Kilimanjaro!!! Better get my skates on and get over to Everest soonest.

Bio... as for my brother climbing... I'll believe it when I "see" it, but you never know! He actually even worked out how many flights on Kilimanjaro...but shaved off a few hundred. That's because his flights are more than 15 steps. I need to set him straight.
"Sarkie" means sarcastic in Brit lingo!

ok, I think I'm going to give this a go. I live on the 8th floor of a high rise and I usually take the elevator. Is there anything special I should know?

RAGA! welcome to our world of climbing!

pretty much, the very first post tell you all the particulars of how this challenge works. you can get to a worksheet that has all the climbs listed and basically just start taking those flights instead of the elevator. then tell us of your progress so we can celebrate each finished climb!

i keep a chart for the group so i know the totals of what we've done. right now we have finished a total of 49,466 flights. that's finished climbs!

IT'S GREAT TO HAVE ANOTHER CHALLENGER!

Hey Raga!! 8th floor, huh? Time to make those stairs work for you & build up those leg muscles. You'll soon find that climbing and completing each building or mountain is highly addictive!!!

Sally, I think there was a blinding blizzard the day I passed you on Kili. Otherwise, I would have pulled you right along with me & you could've taught me some British slang.

Everest seems ok so far, but I can't see the top from down here. I think new gear is in order.

I've just printed out the tracker and will do as it says and when I'm done I'll be back to let you know what I'm going to do.

                            This is great!!!
One day at at time...today I will do what I need to do to reach my goal.

Welcome to our world of buildings and mountains Raga and Sens! Glad you've both caught the bug. This really does get addictive, so soon you'll find you avoid lifts (elevators) like the plague!

Bio... here's some British slang: We're all going "up the apples" on this challenge.
That's cockney rhyming slang... (apples and pears = stairs... so up the apples actually means up the stairs!) Have any of you ever heard of our contorted rhyming slang? http://www.cockneyrhymingslang.co.uk..._rhyming_slang
Another is "trouble and strife = wife" so you'd maybe say: "I'm just taking my trouble down to the pub". There are thousands of them and cockneys do use them. Boy are they hard to understand at times!!!

So... let's get on, up the apples!
