After feeling a bit pathetic at my loss this week (only about a half pound), I want to make up a short term challenge for myself, to give myself a "power surge" and see if I can jump start myself.
I believe in measuring progress in ways other than by the scale or tape measure, so I am focusing on a one mile run in my challenge. At this point I cannot run a straight mile. Here are the rules I'm laying out for myself:
1. Runs Wednesday, May 30 - Wednesday, June 13, results posted on June 14
2. I will weigh and measure on May 30th and not again until June 14. (eek... can I resist the scale for two weeks??)
3. On May 30 I will time my mile run/walk time. On June 14th I will time my mile run/walk (hopefully no walking!) time. I won't time for the duration of my challenge.
4. I will run at least 6 days a week. I want to get myself into a habit.
So that's basically it. I know 2 weeks is a short time frame, but I want to see if I can make some improvements in that amount of time and kick that weight loss back into full swing! If anyone else wants to join me, that would be fun! If not, I don't mind doing it alone! If it all pans out, I'm sure I will run another challenge maybe for a month next time. I will post again on Wednesday with my starting stats. Then I will be hiding my scale!
