    There is no need to count calories. The Atkins Nutritional Approach counts grams of carbohydrates instead of calories.

    Although there is no need to count calories, they do matter. Gaining weight results from taking inmore calories than you expend through exercise, thermogenesis (the body's own heat production) and other metabolic functions. Research has shown that on a controlled carbohydrate program, more calories are burned than in a low-fat/high carb diet, so there is a certain metabolic advantage to the controlled carb approach. But understand that this does not give you license to gorge.

    I am back in again. Burned 524 calories this morning. 20 minutes lower body weights and 40 minutes on the bike.

      LOL, but it wont be long!

      I did a 5 mile run tonight. 729 calories.

            But I love to try and make people laugh. Its one of my favourite things in the world.

                Richt, sounds like we are a lot alike! Sometimes humor is the only thing that keeps me sane! Or is that insane??? LOL

                Yesterday I burned 312 calories biking, weights, and swimming. Today 524 on the bike and weights.

                              Did 519 calories this morning. 20 minutes on lower body weights ( a total of over 80,000 lbs during all my sets) and got in 9.3 miles in 40 minutes on the bike.
