Evermind, what a wonderful experience -- thank you so much for sharing it with us. I know exactly how you felt -- I remember how proud I was when I was first able to run a 1/4 mile at one stretch. Guess what? You ARE "a runner" again! Congratulations and keep up the great work!

        And they're off!

I went ahead and jumped the gun, starting this past Wednesday. First two runs went fairly well. Heavy breathing for sure during the walks. Muscles felt just a bit stiff and sore afterward which felt great!
The new shoes I got were perfect for me. So far no shin splint problems. That's a huge relief as I usually feel the pain immediately. Hopefully, this program will prevent them.
I've been using the treadmill since it's been triple digit temps this week. Probably won't bother running outside until it's in the low to mid 80s in the evenings again. My neighborhood is hilly. That'll be fun for sure

        Rung 1 nearly done.

I'm honored to "coach" and "cheer" you guys!!

Last year when Adena, Julie, Lyssie and I (and outback jess-although she was UNWILLING at the beginning if you can believe it!! LOL) started running, I used to pretend in my head that they were with me...and cheering me on. It was some of the mental stuff I did to keep me focused.

Joy---What was the name of that show where the guy worked in an office and had people living in his head? Wasn't it "Herman's Head"? Okay, so that was like 14 years ago. LOL. I just thought of that when you mentioned how you enderingly kept your running buddies in your head while you began to run. I'll be doing the same thing with you folks!

Jamie---thanks for that pep! Cool beans how you got everyone's name there and lists the workouts.

Thanks for the pm reminder, Jamie!!

I shall be starting tonight at the gym on the first rung (0). I usually do my weights first on a Monday and then cardio afterwards so will see how that works for me. I suspect that if I do the walk/jog first I will be too knackered to do any weights at all!!

I'm getting ready to go for my run right now (at the gym, since my watch battery is dead). Wish me luck...I haven't run a single step in...oh, quite a while!

                      I'm starting at rung 0.

Got back from my run. It went well but I am glad I started on Rung 0! I wouldn't have been able to do more than that! I ended up going 1.5 miles total, which I thought was pretty cool...

I finished week3 day 2 today. I'm thinking of sticking with this interval for this week and next after reading over next weeks work out. I guess it'll be a wait and see how my body does next week.

WonderWoman...great job with the mile and a half! I, too, am starting at rung 0. I hope I don't have to drop down to rung "-1".

Perfect...I love your little rung map below the C25K logo. It looks a little like the Xs and Os that kids use to indicate hugs and kisses. Love it! The more workouts you cross-out, the more "kisses" you get! Mind if I steal your idea? It's cute and keeps us on track.

Gosh...everyone is doing so well. I'm proud of you all! My first official workout is scheduled for this evening on the treadmill. It's like 102 degrees out right now so running does not sound like much fun. On the other hand, I woke up two pounds lighter this morning so I know the exercise is working...and getting slim and fit certainly sounds like fun!
