So, I got my new pedometer today - I was reading through the instructions and thought I would share some of it with your all...
A pedometer measures the vertical acceleration - up and down motion - of your hips as you walk. It also measures things you do throughout your day in addition to walking - bending to tie your shoes, going up and down stairs, etc. That's OK, because the goal of the 10,000 steps program is for you to expend more energy and burn more calories. The movement can be in other forms than walking.

i've decided to try for 15,000 steps this week. i will only be counting the steps i do at the hiking trail. if i wear the pedometer around the house, the numbers are all whacky from the stop and go, the flights and so on. the numbers aren't accurate for me.
today i didn't walk so i'm 0/15000
