  • September Double Chin Challenge

Hi! I don't know about anyone else - but I'd sure like to tone up my neck area.
I bought a book awhile back - awesome book. I'll post the website in the next post.
I decided to start this challenge because I've been lazy about doing this on my own and I know if I have others here it will inspire me!
I thought we could just check in each day with an update that we did the face exercises and at the end of the month we can share how we feel and if we notice a change.
If you have sample exercises of what you'll be doing, please post them. It just might help someone else along the way

    Who'll join me?

    As promised......

    http://www.faceliftingbyexercise.com/

    Face exercise.....

    Correcting Flabbiness Under Chin

    Step 1Lift chin slightly upward.

Step 2 With flat point of index and middle fingers press against indentation (hollow) formed by the two upper nodules of the larynx located at the curve from chin to neck. Do not be concerned in the beginning as to the precise location of pressure which you will discover through practice. Regard finger pressure as the resistance against the working muscles.

Step 3 Now press your back teeth firmly together * and while maintaining this position.

Step 4Press the tip of your tongue against the inside of lower front teeth (gum line) increasing pressure with the tip of tongue ** in 10 or more gradual and definite steps (Count to 10).

Step 5 Hold end position of pressure for 6 seconds (count slowly to six).

Step 6 Release muscle work for 10 gradual steps (count to 10).

    Step 7Remove finger resistance.

    Repeat 4 more times.

    ResultsNoteSuggestion
    Visible in approximately one week.

    * If resistance is kept at the right place you will feel the muscles pushing against your finger resistance.

** For each increase of pressure with tip of tongue you will sense a stronger push against your resistance.

Since the pressure of the finger tips against resistance may be felt unpleasantly and also may slip, it is advisable to cushion finger tips with cotton.

      Re: September Double Chin Challenge

Hi. I'd love to join you if you'd like the company. I've tried these before, but never consistently, so I'd like to try and really be dedicated to it for a month and see if there's any difference. The only exercise I really want to focus on for now is this one:

"A great exercise is to sit upright, tilt your head back looking at the ceiling while keeping your lips closed and then start a chewing movement. You will feel the muscles working in your neck and throat area - and will be truly amazed at the results. Repeat 20 times."

It came from this site http://www.ageless.co.za/facialneck.htm. I'm going to try to do this at least 100 times a day and see if I can't get a chin back. I'll try to post every couple of days to just to stay accountable. Thanks for the motivation!

I'd like to join too, but I just tried both of the exercises mentioned and they seem to aggravate my TMJ. Am I doing something wrong or maybe I should just not try

I've got a little bit of a "click" on one side of my jaws, too, but after a few sets of the neck exercise it goes away for the rest of the day. I would think if it really aggravates your TMJ, it's probably not a good idea. In my case, it's not really TMJ, mostly a slight misalignment from sleeping with my hand under my face, a habit I can't break. I had a little TMJ problem years ago, but my dentist ground my molars down some and fixed it. I know how bad it can hurt, so you have my sympathy.

I'm in too--I've lost over 3 inches in my neck and have saggy skin--still better than that triple or quadruple chin I had! I hope this helps.

I'm glad to see you back, Lady Hawke. I missed you!

Thanks for the new exercises, Tracy, I sure hope they get rid of this extra neck skin.

                  Re: September Double Chin Challenge

Three whole days of neck exercises and I'm still not seeing any results . So far I've done 120, 130, and 150. My neck kind of hurts, too, along the sides. Anyone else feeling anything?

                    Re: September Double Chin Challenge

I definitely feel some pulling when I do the exercises. I haven't done terribly great this last week, but I'm re-committing today.

                    How are ya'll doing?
