    It's Monday! time to get this started, state our goals and get to steppin'!


    17,700 for me this week.

    Start 10 Jan 2005. Maintenance since Aug. 2005.

        3106 steps on the trail

        i had to estimate. the ped. was messed up. word to the wise: don't leave your pedometer in the hot car. it might not work till it cools down.

              Pedometers Proven to Increase Exercise

              Does wearing a pedometer really help people to get more exercise each day? Research says they do. Women with pedometers and a goal of 10,000 steps per day walked more than those whose goal was a brisk, 30-minute walk, according to research published in the April, 2005 issue of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise®.

                thanks for the article, cyn! looking at that makes me think that for someone at maintance, just watching our portions and sticking with our woe for maintance along with a good 2,000 step walk per day could keep a person at a goal weight. that really is not a long walk. one mile, i think it said.

                    While I was walking, I realized that I hadn't signed up for this week yet. It is becoming a habit! Thanks, Cynthia for starting this.

                    I'll up it a thousand and try for 50,000 this week.

                        Silly... it helps not having a sit-down job! I think I'm at my limit now though... touch and go as to whether I'll make 75,000 consistently... no harm trying though.

                        Cyn... tks for the interesting article, and for the challenge. I know I'm more motivated to walk that extra bit now that I wear a pedometer.
