    I'm not laughing! Well done for doing it! I haven't attempted that on yet. I tried something like that recently and it was really hard! Don't push too hard though.

    That programme sounds good. What is it?

      Alexa the program is called body blast legs and glutes by cathe friedrich it's part of 6 part series. I have fit tv as part of my cable package her series airs there. It's for advanced but I thought I would just start with the first exercise and add on as I can. My husband and I took before pics about a month ago and have a little competation going to see who can make the most improvement by christmas. I am close to my goal weight but I really wanted to get as much improvement in my glutes and abs as I could before then. HMy husband has lost and gained 50 pounds on atkins more times then i can count. Its like he works hard to lose it all then goes out and eats every blessed thing he wants until he gaines it all back and starts over again sigh. I try really hard not to do that although I was slightly below my goal weight and regained about 6 or 7 pounds its harder for me being in maitaince then on owl. But I try really hard to set a 5 pound limit if I get close to 5 pounds over my goal weight I try hard to get it back down. He is very competitive so I thought if I issued a challange he would be motivated to try and beat me guess we'll see how that works out. No matter what he does I am going to give it my best shot to get in the best shape I can before now and christmas.

        Well, you've got to do better than your hubby! Good luck, we'll encourage you!

        I'm still thinking what I need to do, I'll check in Sunday with my great(?) plan.

          OK ... I am not doing all the challenges.. But ..

          My current stats are:

          Push-ups 15
          12 min walk/run (distance in 12minutes) .72/mile
          Step Test - 127 Beats per minute
          38/female/5'7

            Beginning Stats:

            I don't do steps--bad ankles and total lack of coordination-also no easily accessible steps

            Pushups--I did 25, which the chart said was good
            Situps--actually I did crunches--64 in one minute
            Squats--85
            Walking--from door to park-2 min
            1st trip around park-7 min
            2nd trip-speed walking-8 min
            3rd trip-reg walk-9 min
            park to door-2 min
            28 minutes total--

            Track is not convenient, so I'm doing what is.
            If I think of anything else, I'll edit it in later.

              - Do just one or all of the fitness tests before the challenge starts on 1st November to give you a baseline level.
              - You can modify or add your own tests if you want to. For reasons of simplicity I will be sticking to the 5. Also these are tests I found online that have charts to see how well you did for your age and gender.
              - At the beginning of November sign in with how you did.
              - For that month exercise and eat as planned, but with an eye on making advances in strength, speed and endurance that will show up at the end of the month.
              - Within a week on the 1st December re-do the test(s) and see how you improved.

              This challenge sounds AWESOME and just what I need to get serious! I'm going to do all five tests tomorrow (Halloween) and report them to you ASAP! So count me in on this challenge. I will also post them here on this thread as well. Cool?

                    Alexa, I would love to join! I'll do all 5 and post the results by the 5th. The running test will be based on my pedometer as I have no access to track or treadmill.

                        Here are a few of my results. I'll update the rest when they are done.

                        1. Steps - 159 - Very Poor

                        2. Squats - 56 - Excellent

                        3. Sit-ups - 28 -Average

                        4. Push-ups - 34 - Good

                        5. Running - 1448 m - Poor VO2 Max - 21.08 - Poor

                          I've decided to wait to tally up the results until after the 5th so we can get all the tests done we want.

                          I'm away now and for this weekend but will do the step and situp tests.

                            Count me in! I did a fit test in mid-August and many of the exercises are what you listed here. I would love to see how I've improved since then and then continue into the future. The ones I did before was the sit-up test, push-ups, and 1 mile (walk/run). I'll do the others for a more complete picture and post everything later on.

                              Thanks for the PM! I totally forgot about this challenge and what my goal was. And after doing some revisiting my goals and what I need to do before now and Winter break, I need to remove myself from this goal. Thanks so much for all you do! I appreciate you. I'll still be exercising and pushing a little more each day!
