  • November Stability Ball Exercise Sign up and Reporting Thread

    Exercises that count in this challenge include, but are NOT limited to:

    lying hamstring curls
    tricep extensions
    reverse crunches
    lying leg press
    push ups
    jackknife
    stretching
    slow swim
    side plank
    seated leg extension
    bridge ball squats
    1 arm rows
    stability ball exericse tapes/dvd's

    Basically, any exercise that you do, using your stability ball will count.

      i'm sticking with 325. that seems to be the number that works for me. i am getting to 300 and thinking i don't wanna do this anymore so i have to push myself to get to goal. i'm happy once i get there but the last 50 are not happy minutes.
      i'll be sticking to the weight work and the inner thigh squeeze along with stretching as i did during october. my shoulder is much better so i know the weight work is having a good impact.

          I'm pledging 350 minutes, too. I know the ball work has really helped my banged up knee and keeping it strong without over-doing it. Of course, there's all the other benefits as well...it's such a great exercie...I love it!

                    11/1 = 15 min bouncing cardio, abs, arms. I tried to do some squats with the ball to double up with my squat challenge but I couldn't coordinate it ....... I looked amusing to my kids though they laughed and laughed! Any tips?????

                      heidi, one of my ball programs has you standing with the ball between your back and a wall. your feet are spread apart. as you squat, make sure your knees don't go past your toes. yes, your feet will be out as you will be leaning somewhat into the ball.
                      if i can find a picture of that, i'll post it for you.

                      this is a better explaination.

                      Wall Squats- Place the ball against a wall. Turn around so that you trap the ball between your back and the wall. The center of the ball should fit in the curve of you lower back. Lean against the ball with your body weight. Your feet should be about shoulder width a part. Begin the squat by bending your hips, sending your buttocks back toward the wall. Just after your hips begin to bend your knees will begin as well. Bend the hips and knees until your thighs are parallel to the floor. The knees should be just over the fore foot. Contract the hip and thigh muscles and lift yourself back up into a standing position. Try to do 1-2 sets of 10 repetitions.

                        Thanks Jimmie that makes alot of sense and now that you reminded me I think I have seen it that way too ........... much better then my trying to aim for the ball as my "chair" and hoping it didn't move! LOL

                          glad it helped, heidi. i've done squats a couple different ways and i find i find the wall squats much more "stable" to do, just like you.

                              crunches, bridges, dumbbell work, slow swim, inner thigh squeeze
