    I lifted weights this mornin so I wasn't going to walk, but the boys want to play 9 holes again tomorrow morning and I needed to get in some cardio so I did 4+ miles tonight.

      Played golf but I was terrible. Still fun though even with the heat humidity and bugs.

        Jill... golf sounds like a great way to get those steps in!

        Sooo hot here (around 103°) my walking's gone right down. Even the dogs are glad to get home after "walkies".

          Yes Sally, It is a nice break from the asphalt and your mind is on that crummy little ball that never seems to go where you want it to, so you aren't thinking about the steps/ Funny thing though--I go half the distance of my usual walks and it takes 50% more time. And it leaves me exhausted the rest of the day if I do 18 holes.

          But I don't have my elliptical here or a pool like I have in China so I figure it is a good way to put some variety into my exercise schedule. And the DH plays so I figured as an empty nester it would be something we could do together once I get a little better.

              Char... how'd Ryan's scan go?

              Caryl...I hear you re jogging around the office! I sometimes jog on the spot at home, when doing certain chores (which get done really badly because of it!) and I always think that if anyone saw me they'd think I was a total nutcase!

              Jill... may take longer, and that little ball may go wherever, but it still sounds fun! Nice to do it with your DH too.
              Not a game for me though. I only tried golf once... I'd better not talk about it though... people laughed for weeks!

                  Thank you all for the prayers...now it's a wating game the worse kind ever...it could take a week..my daughter waits for that damn phone to ring..it controls your life.
                  jimmie they have to put I don't know if this is right but isatope through his body the day before, it makes things light up green on the scan then he goes in the next day and they put him out. its a long scan I think it takes an hour and a half ..My daughter Chontell said they left the childrens hosp..this time with Ryan high fiving and a big ba bye even after all that... kids are incredible.. as for the chemo he's been done with that for quite awhile and can't do anymore unless it starts to grow.It's very frustrating.

                      Hi, Sally! I didn't get caught, got quite a few steps in, and didn't fall asleep because it was so quiet, so it was all win/win.

                      Miniature golf is about my limit of golfing, and I'm really bad at that.

                        char, i think you said it right about the isotopes. it's great the ryan gets along so good with things. he's probably done better than me. LOL

                        it's raining AGAIN! sheeesh
                        there will be no walk tonight. the trail is getting quite muddy from all the rain. i've ended up better than last week, so i'm happy with that.

                          Well I didn't exercise walk today. A friend came down and we went out to the "you pick 'em" farms in South Jersey and I picked fresh green beans, snow peas, dill, cilantro, cabbage, lettuce, blueberries ....the list goes on. Felt like I had worked out when we finished but it was beautiful countryside and those veggies will taste sooo good.

                            Bonding with ex-in laws went well. Amazing how grandchildren will change attitudes of grandparents.

                              Jill... picking veggies is a great way to workout! And you get to eat them afterwards... delicious! A win win situation.

                              Just couldn't bring myself to do so much in the humidity and temps up in the hundreds.

                              For next week, I still won't lower my target... if I keep it there, there's more likelihood I'll have some incentive to do more, and every extra step counts!
