Well. I will spill it. I woke up on July 4th totally depressed and unmotivated. I have not cheated on the WOE although I did consume 4-500 extra calories a couple of days. I have not wanted to exercise and have not been able to force myself to do so. I even stopped taking my vitamins and drinking enough water. I have NO IDEA why I did an overnight 180 degree turn except maybe hormone shifts. Soo weird! Up til now I have been gung ho and ready to face each challenge. Diligent with everything. Makes me realize how easy it is to get off track.

I put off exercise all day but told myself I would make myself do it today. Tonight my son joined me for a five mile walk at an easy 3.5 mph pace. I had told him I needed him to hold me to going for the walk or I might back out. I figured even if I did a slow walk, that would make me feel like I have at least made a start back. And I took my vitamins and am working on my water issues.

It is so illogical. I have no idea what has caused this blip. Anyone else ever feel like this?

yep, lots of times. sometimes this is due to just taking on too much. i've seen it many times when new members come in all excited and join every challenge there is. within weeks, even if it takes that long, they burn out and drop away. you are not alone, chinadoll. just work through it by taking a step back or making notes on where you want to go from here. if challenges are too much, step back from this one for a week or so. i think all of us have done that from time to time.

Thanks Jo. I nipped this one in the bud. The challenges weren't something new (the challenge is in recording it consistently-LOL) But I think you are right. I must have had a burn out of sorts. I also think TOM hits harder these days. The plus is that I recognized it quickly and took conscious steps to start turning it around before it snowballed. And I am working back up at a slow but steady pace this week so I don't get frustrated. The real test will be September when I go back to China. Jet lag always causes a lay off and I have to work through re-entry to my other life.

i think everyone goes through some sort of burn out from time to time. i know i have on more than one occassion.

the plus is that you know all this ahead of time. allowing yourself to plan and take action before everything goes to pot, is a good thing.

Okay, the weather stinks again today but I am committing to 8500 before I do them because even if it storms I will do my salsa dancing tape over and over til I reach my commit number. That way I am forced to complete it. So... 8500

Hey! Don't be embarrassed! Only reason I get those numbers is because my doggies absolutely insist on it! How can I disappoint them??
When the weather was hot and humid, I slowed down lots... but they just bound around regardless! (well only one really; the other is too old to do much bounding).
Now we still have the heat, but it's so much better without the humidity, and I've been walking even earlier in the morning than usual.
