My kickboxing instructor made me do 3 x 3 mins skip last night - but for the first set I had to do as many tricks as possible, for the 2nd I had to up the tempo and for the 3rd it was 10 seconds fast, 10 slow throughout - killer!

Wow, what a workout Alexa!

Did more hula... planned to do 30 min but after about 23 my hoop went in a funny orbit so I just stopped.

Is any of you able to keep the hoop on one leg (below knee)? I saw this on Youtube, but I can't do it for more than a minute or so. :-(

I can't find an original hoola hoop (isn't that the original spelling?). I bought some cheap ones once for a kiddie party, but they didn't have the right feel. I'm sure they're still around. I need to ask the kid I happen to think this would be quite fun and comical I know that when my son first played with one he was sooooo uncoordinated and his body was going in 10 different directions at once. I, my MIL and husband were laughing so hard tears and other bodily fluids were flowing. Well, the tears flowed, the other just threatened to flow I'm sure I would look the same after so many years not using one.

Anyone of you have the original brand (was it Wham-o?) or are you using the cheap knock-offs? If using the cheap ones, are they working well or a challenge because of the wrong balance of beads to tube? I can still hear that ssshhhhoooop shoooooop sound as the beads made their way around and around.

Memories....

Well, I called Toys R Us and they do carry the original, but are out because it is a seasonal item. Maybe that's why I've never found one. I miss the seasonal boat!

You can also check out websites that specialize in hooping. They don't carry the original ones by Wham-O, but do have a variety. One site is hoopgirl.com.
