  • May Stability Ball Challenge ~ sign up and reporting thread

    If you're looking for a challenge that will work on your core and help you with stability and strength, this is for you!!

    Incorporating the stability ball into your usual routine will challenge your body in new ways and break up the monotony of exercises that have gone a bit stale.

    Need some ideas about which exercises to use with a stability ball? YouTube has all kinds of videos!

    YOUTUBE STABILITY BALL EXERCISES

    More SB exercises can be found by clicking on the following, SPARK PEOPLE

    Exercises that count in this challenge include, but are NOT limited to, the following:

    lying hamstring curls
    tricep extensions
    reverse crunches
    lying leg press
    push ups
    jackknife
    stretching
    slow swim
    side plank
    seated leg extension
    bridge ball squats
    rows
    stability ball exercise tapes/DVD's


    Basically, any exercise that you do using your stability ball will count!



    NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE WAY THE TALLY IS DONE!!!!
    YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MINUTES. I
    WILL NOT BE TRACKING OR ADDING UP ANYBODYS MINUTES BUT MINE. I WILL HOWEVER HAND OUT AWARDS WHEN THE TIME COMES.

    i will commit to 200 minutes for may. this number is lower than last month. i want to do more walking with jack and we have some life things that are getting more time consuming. .

                    Julie, good job for already getting some minutes in.

                    Jimmie, I hope you'll get some minutes in today or else I'll have to send the cheerleaders to your house.

                    Here are a few exercises I tried lately:
                    Pilates: Balance Ball Workout (Beauty & Style: Pilates) [okay exercises, but I really don't like the voice]
                    Our Top 8 Stability Ball Exercises: Push-Up on a Ball [8 exercises, some of them new to me, some not]
                    Stability Ball Exercises | Expert Village Videos [14 more]

                    I have 35 minutes to add.

                      I had this great Reebok DVD and do you think I can find it? GRRR I have another one that I'm using right now and it's doing the trick but I think I'll need to invest in a better one. Any recommendations?

                              Better late then never I hope! Add me in for 250 this month I am cutting back just a little as I hope to add some outdoor activities as well including some night walks while the weather allows!
