  • August Stability Ball Exercise Challenge ~ sign up and reporting thread

    If you're looking for a challenge that will work on your core and help you with stability and strength, this is for you!!

    Incorporating the stability ball into your usual routine will challenge your body in new ways and break up the monotony of exercises that have gone a bit stale.

    Need some ideas about which exercises to use with a stability ball?

    Exercises that count in this challenge include, but are NOT limited to, the following:

    lying hamstring curls
    tricep extensions
    reverse crunches
    lying leg press
    push ups
    jackknife
    stretching
    slow swim
    side plank
    seated leg extension
    bridge ball squats
    rows
    stability ball exercise tapes/DVD's




    Basically, any exercise that you do using your stability ball will count!

    NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE WAY THE TALLY IS DONE!!!!
    YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MINUTES. I
    WILL NOT BE TRACKING OR ADDING UP ANYBODYS MINUTES BUT MINE. I WILL HOWEVER HAND OUT AWARDS WHEN THE TIME COMES.

    i'm going to stick with 200 minutes through the summer.

        Im going to add 250 mins to my exercise routine this month.

            Well it's August 3rd and I am just checking in. I am going to stick with 300 it seems to be a good number for me.

            Here's my first few nights:

            8/1 - 14 min
            8/2 - 10 min
            8/3 - 10 min

            34/300

            Oh and as you can tell by the lack of pictures we STILL have no baby yet. She is as of today 5 cm dialted and about 90% effaced. I think the baby is just going to fall out when it's time! LOL

                everyone is off to a good start 'cept me. but i did get 8 minutes done tonight.
                you know, the problem with me is this.... i am really enjoying my house and all that we are doing to it to make it ours and i just lose track of time. by the time i remember that i should be doing some ball work or even biking, i'm too tired, it's too late or both.

                        Well I FINALLY have a new grandson! He was born at 2:35 AM on August 4th notice no Minutes that day as we got ZERO sleep the night before and I was exhausted........ The awesomest ( I know I made that word up) Part of the whole thing was somehow Ashlie and CHris changed their minds and I got to attend his birth. It was amazing as always and a wonderful experience. His name is Blake Michael Allen and he was 8 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches long. A perfect little blessing!

                            i can add 2 more minutes. that isn't much but have you ever just tried to balance yourself on the ball? i mean not touching the floor or wall or anything?

                              I just learned about this Challenge today & with my Lupus/Fibro this is one of the few excerise's that Iam allowed to do!!!

                              If it's ok to join I will pledge "250mins" for the month of Aug & if its too late I will join~in next month!!!

                              Please Advise!!!
