Thanks for joining me. I was hoping for company.
I like the 10 minute a day idea. I was just at yoga and we doing a very nice stretch which was just laying on the floor with the feet up agaist the wall (In an L shape) very nice relaxing pose

Glad to join you Liv! Your pose sounds good If I do manage to get some decent yoga sessions in through May I'll be happy, but I'm so into steps, weights and the rest at the moment, yoga is having to take a back seat timewise - just reminding myself to do a bit every day should keep me flexible and fairly pain free!

Re: May strength challenge: Pledge minutes

I would love to do this too. I really need to start adding exercise and strength training into my rountine. I have been on the diet now for 3 weeks and the weight loss is really slowing down. So this will be good to get that boost! I will pledge 15 minutes of either my Ab Circle Pro machine or arm weights 5 days a week. Do we just watch this thread and converse about our how our pledges are going? Sorry new to this whole thing. I'll get started tonight! Thanks!

Slow and steady wins the race!!!

Welcome wonderful that you are signing up as well. Yes we just hand around here and chip away on our pledge number that we set. With those minutes it looks like you pledge is 300 minutes for may. Does that sound right to you. I am signing you up

Re: May strength challenge: Pledge minutes

Well, I got on my ab circle pro both yesterday and this morning! I could only go 10 minutes each time though. It is harder than you would assume it to be. I figure I will make up the time I pledged with a five minute longer arms workout or just add an additional day to my strength training schedule. It is a nice day here in Iowa and I already called my mom and we are going to take the kids on a long walk and to the park. So it should be a pretty physical day for me. Lets hope it pays off in the near future! Thanks for listening!

                      Welcome NORMAN

Des I am sure you will be able to build up. But listen to your body. Arms exercises are great. Do you have a pair of dumbbells ?

Yeah, I have a 3lb. set and 5lb. set. I have a stability ball workout that has you sit on your ball and use them, you also use the ball for several other mini 10 minute workouts. I really like it. I just wish I had a higher ceiling because my ceiling fan has taken a hit a few times when lifting the ball over my head! If you haven't ever tried stability ball you should. They are great for crunches and it works all parts of your body because your always using all your muscles to balance on the ball. They are also awesome for stretching and I know you are into yoga.

I do not have one but when I workout at the gym I use one or I use a bosu ball. I like to mix things up so I don't get bored with stuff.
