Re: May strength challenge: Pledge minutes

Creatine monohydrate is the mother of all supplements. Controversial, but my Lord, the strength gains on this stuff are phenomenal. It works as good, if not better than dianabol.

All this rain has my running schedule totally mixed up and if my running is mixed up the rest follows. But I did some yoga just about every day and I have worked with some new sculpting tapes.

Re: May strength challenge: Pledge minutes

Alright, I am in if I can still join? I want to pledge to spend 20 minutes a day doing strength training. Which would be a total of 620 minutes for the entire month. I can make up the minutes for the first 7 days. Is that acceptable?

I am also doing the 6 Week Exercise Challenge and for that I have been doing Wii Fit and walking/jogging on a treadmill. I think having both will force me to expand my routine.

Super that you can join this very select group The mroe the merrier. I think it is fine to add the minutes that you think you will be able to make from now on. You do not have to try to make things up So 20 minutes aday for the next 24 days is 480 or do you want more

OK I am working out. I did a session in the gym two days a go and I am still sore. A combination of working the machines - which is always different from free weights and sculpting and I also did the 20lbs bicep curls to failure (which is after just a few but it burns )
And I did yoga a couple of times

What are you guys concentrating on?

Re: May strength challenge: Pledge minutes

Can I sign up for this so late in the month? I would love to! I am reducing some running mileage so I have more time to pump some iron these days. I am enjoying the body sculpting benefits and strength gains I have had just in the last month or so. I go to the gym and each time I go I lift for about 45 mins for a full body workout. I try to do that 2-3 times per week but all I have managed consistently has been 1-2 workouts per week. Just over this last month from April to May, I gained almost 6lbs of lean mass to my frame! Wahoo! I went down 4% body fat too (losing almost 8lbs of fat) so this WOE and exercising is working! Maybe this will encourage me to keep it up. I was never a big strength training fan but I am now...only since I have been on Atkins though because it is effecting my body differently then it used to.

My goal is 45 mins, 2x/wk or 6 hours per month, however since I am sort of slacked off so far this month (I got sick on the 2nd of May for a few days then picked it back up on Friday the 7th) I plan to try for 240 mins (4 hours total). If I manage to get more then that - great!

So far I have done this:

5/7: 35 mins dumbell/weights session at home - super slow reps to build muscular endurance
5/10: 50 mins full body weight circuit at gym, 2-3 sets of 15 each machine, shorter rest period between to keep my HR up.

I am going to workout tonight after my 2 mile run but I am still sore in a few places I might do a shorter more focused workout - avoiding the sore muscle areas like my weak little triceps that are still sore lol.

                                Total so far: 85 mins
